Thank you for your interest in commissioning a piece from Susan Richards! Here are a few general guidelines about the process:
Please email Susan to discuss the piece (size, price, colors, subject matter, reference photos, fabric and paint samples, etc.).
Acceptance of commissions for a custom piece of art is subject to Susan's schedule. Susan maintains an active waitlist should she not be able to accept a commission immediately.
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required upon agreement to commission. Susan will add you to her commission schedule upon receipt of the deposit. Enter code COMMISSION at checkout to pay half now.
The production timeframe is 8-12 weeks, subject to holidays and travel.
Susan will send you a sketch before starting and a midpoint picture of the piece. You may request a change at either of these points.
The 50% payment balance is due when the piece is completed. An invoice will be sent for the remainder at time of completion.
Taxes will be added at final payment.
There is an additional charge for packing and shipping (please provide delivery address for estimate of cost. Shipping is steep! Be prepared!). Studio pick up is welcome for anyone near or far! Some folks choose this option as it makes their piece more personable.
