When I was 10, I traveled to the California coast with my family. We walked the shore, collecting pussy-willow branches and stones, taking in the smells and sounds of the West Coast. As we strolled, I felt such gratitude. I was safe with my parents as we explored creation and learned new things….together. All the while, I savored the sweet, secure space of solitude in my soul. Together and alone.
